Level: Easy
Ingredients
- ¼ cups Butter, divided
- ½ whole Chopped onion
- ½ heads Chopped green cabbage
- 2 cups Chicken or vegetable broth, plus more if needed
- Salt and pepper
Preparation
Put 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat with the onion and cabbage. When the butter melts, pour the broth into the pan – the liquid should come up halfway over the cabbage, maybe a little more.
Increase the heat to medium-high to bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low to simmer the cabbage for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is very tender.
When the liquid is almost reduced and the cabbage is cooked, stir in the remaining butter. Taste and add plenty of salt and pepper to your liking. Enjoy!
Note: Vegetarian if vegetable stock is used, vegan if vegetable stock and olive oil are used instead of butter.
