An amazing way to cook an amazing steak! The flat iron is one of the most tender and flavorful steaks available. It’s a surefire way to cook that wonderful steak.
- 1-½ pound flat iron steak
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Black pepper
Season both sides of the flat iron steak with salt and pepper. Vacuum seal the steak in a FoodSaver bag.
Immerse the steak in a water bath maintained at 135°F by a vacuum immersion circulator. Cook the steak at 135°F for 2 1/2 hours.
Remove the steak from the plastic bag and pat it dry with paper towel. Sear the steak for 1 minute on each side to develop the crust. You can sear the steak on your stovetop using a cast iron skillet, or in your oven using the broiler, or on your broiler.
Slice the steak and serve with your choice of vegetables and sides.
