Delicious smoked shredded chicken recipe.
Preparation:
To cook:
Level: Easy
Serves: 4
Ingredients
- 1 whole Chicken
- barbecue sauce
- To rub:
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tbsp Kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon Ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
Preparation
Start by preheating your smoker to 250F.
Cut the whole chicken in half.
Take a bowl and continue to combine all the rub ingredients in the bowl. When done, rub both sides of the chicken with the seasoning mixture.
Place the chicken in the smoker and add some wood chips. Applewood was the option I chose. Cook for 1.5 to 2 hours or until internal temperature of chicken reaches 165F. Use an instant-read thermometer to determine internal temperature.
Once the chicken has reached an internal temperature of 165F, remove the chicken from the smoker and cover it with foil. Let stand at room temperature for 15 minutes.
Shred the chicken and toss it with your favorite barbecue sauce.
Put the shredded chicken on sandwich buns and enjoy!
