A super simple, guilt-free appetizer loaded with the comforting flavor of melted cheese.
- 1 whole Egg
- 1 tbsp Water
- 8 whole Wonton wrappers
- 4 rooms (1 oz size) String cheese, halved
- 1 teaspoon Olive oil
- ½ cups Marinara sauce, for dipping
In a small bowl, whisk together egg and water. Working one at a time, brush wonton wrapper with egg mixture.
Place the string cheese in the center of each dough. Bring the bottom edge of the wrap firmly over the cheese, rolling up and down until the top of the wrap is reached (be careful not to tear the wraps).
Add the olive oil to a skillet over medium heat and cook the mozzarella sticks until golden brown and crispy, about 1 to 2 minutes. Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.
