Level: Easy
Serves: 4
Ingredients
- 4 rooms (5 to 6 oz size) Salmon fillets, with or without skin
- 1 clove minced garlic
- ½ cups Cider
- ¼ cups Soya sauce
- 1 tbsp Sriracha
- 1 tbsp Honey
- 1 tbsp Sesame oil
Preparation
Place the oven on broil at 500ºF.
Whisk together all glaze ingredients (all except salmon). Place the salmon flat in a hollow dish then pour 1/3 of the glaze mixture. Using tongs, gently flip the salmon several times in the mixture, then let stand for 10 minutes (skin side up if your salmon has skin on).
Meanwhile, simmer the remaining sauce in a small saucepan over low heat until thickened, about 10 minutes.
Transfer the salmon to a baking sheet (skin side down) and broil in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes depending on the thickness of the fillets. Once the salmon is done cooking, pour the simmered sauce over it and serve.
Note: I enjoy this meal with rice and asparagus. For the asparagus, I mixed them with olive oil, salt and pepper and cooked with the salmon (same temperature and same time). For the rice, I cooked it according to package directions with the addition of 1 tbsp butter, juice of a lime, salt and pepper to taste.
