Ingredients
- 1 pound Brussels sprouts
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- Coarse salt and ground black pepper
- Crushed red pepper flakes and minced garlic (optional)
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 400ºF.
Chop stems from Brussels sprouts. Separate the individual layers of each sprout. Place in a colander and rinse with water. Use a paper towel to dry the shoot leaves.
Place the sprout leaves on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, red pepper flakes and garlic, if using. Using your hands, massage each growing leaf until it is evenly coated with oil and seasonings. Spread the sprout leaves evenly on the baking sheet.
Place in the oven and roast for 15 to 20 minutes, until golden and crispy, flipping the sprouted leaves halfway through cooking.
