Perfectly spiced black beans make a wonderful side dish. Only 5 minutes of preparation, the Instant Pot does all the work for you!
- 1 pound Dried black beans
- 3 cups Water
- ½ teaspoon jerk seasoning
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Combine black beans, water, jerk seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper in the Instant Pot. Put the lid on and set the pressure valve to sealing.
Cook on manual high pressure (also called pressure cooking) for 35 minutes. Let the pressure release naturally for 25 minutes. Manually release any remaining pressure.
Mash until desired consistency, adding more water as needed. You can also mix if you prefer. Season as desired.
