This is an easy, healthy and delicious recipe you can make for your little one who is transitioning to solid food. Abalone is considered a delicacy in South Korea, so this dish is usually reserved for special occasions. Treat your little one like royalty and serve them this special dish!

Level: Easy
Serves: 5
Ingredients
- 1 cup Uncooked organic white rice
- 2 abalones
- ½ Zucchini
- 6 baby carrots
- ½ Onion
- 1 tbsp Sesame seed oil, and more for serving
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- 4 cups Water
Preparation
Soak uncooked rice in water for at least 20 minutes.
Brush the abalone with a toothbrush until you no longer see any dark colors on the surface and sides. If you look at the hull you should notice that there are thin and thick areas. The top of the thin shell area contains the teeth and the thick shell area contains the innards. Using your spoon, gently go around the abalone to remove all the flesh from the shell. Then remove the entrails from the meat. When you cut the top part of the meat, you should see the teeth (I found 2) that need to be removed.
Cut the vegetables and abalone into small pieces.
Over medium-high heat, add the sesame oil, all the vegetables, abalone, and salt, then cook for 3-4 minutes. Add the soaked rice and sauté for 2 minutes. Add water and boil and cook for about 20 minutes. Turn off the heat and drizzle with additional sesame oil.
