There’s no classic dinner bigger or better than a juicy burger. Now stuff that big, bad burger with a piece of American cheese and you have delicious Juicy Lucy! This burger originated in a Minneapolis bar in the 1950s, although there is some debate as to which bar created it first.
Preparation:
To cook:
Level: Easy
Serves: 4
Ingredients
- 1-½ pound Lean ground beef
- 1 tbsp Burger Seasoning (such as Mesquite Grilling)
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 8 slices American cheese
- 4 Hamburger buns, split
Preparation
Combine ground beef, burger seasoning and Worcestershire sauce.
Pat 4 large thin patties and 4 smaller thin patties. Cut or fold the American cheese into quarters. Place 6 to 8 of these cheese wedges on each large patty. Place the small patties on top of the large patties and roll up the edges to seal in the cheese.
Preheat grill and cook about 4 minutes per side or until desired doneness. Stay close and check often so the cheese doesn’t cook out of the beef.
Place each burger on a bun and top with your favorite toppings.
