Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 4 whole black cardamoms
- 4 whole green cardamom
- 4 whole Cloves
- 1 whole Bay leaf
- 1 stick Cinnamon
- 5 whole peppers
- 1 Finely chopped yellow or red onion
- 1 tbsp Freshly grated ginger
- 1 tbsp freshly grated garlic
- 2 Finely chopped green peppers
- 2 books Goat Meat Cut Into Small Pieces
- ¼ cups Tomato Paste
- 1-½ tsp Salt
- 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
- 2 teaspoons Garam Masala, divided
- ¼ cups Plain Greek yogurt
- ½ cups Cilantro, plus more for garnish
Preparation
Put Instant Pot on Saute mode and add cumin seeds, black cardamoms, green cardamoms, cloves, bay leaves, cinnamon sticks and peppercorns. Cook 2 to 3 minutes. Add the onions and cook the onions until lightly browned. Add ginger and garlic and green chilies. Cook for 1 minute.
Add the goat meat and mix for 1 minute. Add coriander powder, cumin powder and 1 teaspoon of garam masala. Brown the goat meat for 5 to 7 minutes.
Add the tomato paste and cook for another 5 minutes. Add the yogurt and cook until you start to see oil around the edges of the pan. Add cilantro and turn Saute mode off. Cook on Meat mode for 25 minutes and allow pressure to release naturally.
When it is safe to open the lid, mix well and add the remaining garam masala and cilantro. To be enjoyed with masala rice and tandoori roti!
