Level: Easy
Serves: 4
Ingredients
- 2 cups Water
- 4 whole Cloves
- ½ teaspoon Cinnamon, plus extra to sprinkle on top
- ½ teaspoon Cardamom
- 2 bags (Individual Size) Black Chai Tea
- 2 tablespoons Honey, divided
- ¾ cups Milk
Preparation
Combine water, cloves, cinnamon and cardamom in a small saucepan and heat over medium-high heat. Whisk everything to dissolve everything. Once it begins to boil, remove it from the heat and let it steep for 5 minutes. Add tea bags and 1 tablespoon of honey and put it back on the heat. Bring to a simmer again, then remove from the heat as soon as it begins to bubble. Leave to infuse for another 5 minutes.
While the tea steeps, get out another saucepan and heat the milk and remaining teaspoon of honey over medium-high heat. Once the milk starts bubbling, remove it from the heat and use an immersion blender to make it nice and frothy. Pour the tea through a fine mesh trainer directly into cups or into a container. Transfer about half or desired amount for hot drinking immediately and pour enough milk to make a thin layer on top with a sprinkle of cinnamon to finish. Seal the rest to warm up for another day and enjoy!
