Ingredients
- ¼ cups Butter
- 3 whole Apples, peeled, cored and cut into 1/2 inch slices
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons Water
- 4 bands Bacon
- 2 whole Eggs
- ¼ cups Milk
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 4 slices Bread
- ⅓ cups Pecans, chopped
Preparation
In a medium skillet over medium-high heat, add butter until melted. Add the apples and mix well. Reduce heat to medium-low, add brown sugar, water and cover. Bake the apples for another 10 minutes, checking and stirring occasionally. Remove the pan from the heat and pour the apples with the hazelnut butter in a dish and set aside.
Cook the bacon. Remove from skillet and chop or crumble. Put aside.
Whisk together eggs, milk and cinnamon. Dip bread in egg mixture and coat each side. Place in the reserved pan and cook on each side until golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
Serve French toast topped with warm apples, pecans and crispy bacon. Drizzle with the remaining hazelnut butter. Serve immediately.
