Calling all onion lovers. This delicious and easy Caramelized Onion Dip is perfect for all your entertaining. Serve with cut celery, cut carrots, sliced cucumber, fries, crostini or pretzel sticks.
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- 2 Large finely chopped Vidalia onions
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon Sea salt
- ¼ teaspoons Fresh cracked black pepper
- 1 cup Sour cream
- ¼ cups Mayonnaise
- ½ tablespoon Chopped fresh chives or Italian parsley
Melt the butter and heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Add onions, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring every 3-4 minutes, until the onions are a rich brown color; about 30-40 minutes. Let cool.
Mix sour cream and mayonnaise. Stir in cooled onions. Garnish with chopped chives or chopped parsley.
