This easy pumpkin and turkey chili recipe is the perfect fall dish made with ground turkey, canned pumpkin, kidney beans and sweet potatoes.
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 teaspoon Oregano
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- 1 teaspoon Cumin
- ¼ teaspoons Red pepper flakes
- ¼ teaspoons garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 box (15 oz size) Tomato sauce
- 2 cups Chicken broth
- ½ cups Pumpkin puree
- 1 Medium sweet potato, peeled and chopped
- 1 Green pepper, chopped
- 1 box (size 15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
In a large saucepan, add ground turkey, oregano, chili powder, paprika, cumin, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, salt and pepper and cook thoroughly.
Pour in the tomato sauce, chicken broth and pumpkin. Stir. Cover and simmer over low-medium heat for 25 minutes.
Add the sweet potato, cover with a lid and cook for another 10 minutes. Add the bell pepper and kidney beans and cook for another 5 to 10 minutes.
