Easy Chai Spice Baked French Toast drizzled with homemade caramel sauce is fragrant, warm, and the perfect way to start your fall mornings.
- 6 Eggs
- ¾ cups Almond milk (or milk of your choice)
- ½ cups Chai Latte Concentrate
- 1 tbsp Vanilla
- ¼ teaspoons salt
- 1 loaf Brioche, sliced
- ⅓ cups sliced almonds
- Powdered sugar and fresh berries, for garnish
- FOR THE CARAMEL SAUCE:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cups Butter
- ¼ cups milk or cream
Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Lightly butter an 8 x 8 inch pan and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs, milk, chai concentrate, vanilla and salt until well blended. Soak all the brioche slices in the egg mixture for 5 minutes.
Arrange the slices of brioche in a buttered mold. Pour remaining egg mixture over bread slices. Sprinkle with slivered almonds.
Bake 40 to 45 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes before sprinkling with powdered sugar. Garnish with fresh berries and homemade caramel sauce. Enjoy!
To make the caramel sauce, bring the brown sugar and butter to a boil. After about 5 minutes, remove from the heat and stir in the milk or cream. Allow to cool slightly before pouring into a jar. Reserve until use. Keep refrigerated.
