Serves: 18
Ingredients
- 2 sticks Butter without salt
- ½ cups brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 1-½ tbsp Trader Joes Chai Latte Blend, or any ground Chai Tea
- 2 cups All purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- Powdered sugar, to coat or sprinkle the cookies
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 325ºF.
Cut the butter into cubes and place it in a large bowl. Add the brown sugar, vanilla and chai tea and mix using a pastry blender. Add the flour and salt and continue to mix in the same way until the mixture begins to form a dough that you can press together with your hands.
Using a cookie scoop for even balls, scoop out the dough and roll it into a smooth ball. Place on an ungreased or parchment-lined cookie sheet. I used 1 1/2 tbsp.
Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden around the edges. Let cool 3 minutes on a cookie sheet after removing from the oven.
Place a few cookies in a bowl of powdered sugar at a time and roll until coated in powdered sugar. Shake off the excess and place it on a tray or plate. Continue this process until all the cookies are coated.
You can dust the tops of the cookies with more powdered sugar using a sieve if you like. I like to do this because sometimes the sugar melts a bit from the heat and doesn’t look very pretty, but they will taste delicious anyway! Enjoy!
