Level: Easy
Serves: 5
Ingredients
- 3 cups macaroni noodles
- ¼ cups Butter, unsalted
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 4 teaspoons Ranch Seasoning
- ¼ cups Flour
- 4 cups Milk Or Cream (or A Mixture)
- 4 cups Cheddar cheese, grated
- ⅔ cups buffalo sauce
Preparation
Cook noodles according to package directions and set aside.
Begin to melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, taking care not to let it burn. When butter is melted, add salt, garlic powder, ranch seasoning and flour. Whisk well until it begins to form a paste.
Once the butter and flour are combined and begin to form a paste, slowly add the milk or cream. Stir constantly and allow the sauce to thicken for at least 5 minutes. Do not skip this step!
Once the roux has cooked for at least 5 minutes and is bubbling gently, turn off the heat. Add grated cheddar and hot sauce. Mix well and let the remaining heat in the pan melt the cheese. This will take a few minutes—be patient!
Once the cheese has completely melted into the sauce, pour the sauce into the pot with the noodles. Mix well. Garnish with fresh chives for garnish if desired. Serve and enjoy!
