This quick and delicious BBQ Jackfruit Pizza is sweet and spicy, making this savory dish a winner! And jackfruit makes it a vegan’s dream! You won’t believe how simple it is to assemble.
- 1 Flatbread Pizza Crust
- 1 box (20 oz size) young jackfruit in brine, drained and rinsed
- 8 ounces, liquid Your favorite barbecue sauce
- 3-½ ounces, liquid Grated vegan cheese
- 3 ounces, liquid Pineapple pieces
- ½ Red onion, sliced
- Pickled and sliced jalapenos
Preheat the oven to 425ºF.
Heat an oiled skillet over medium heat. Add the jackfruit and heat for 2 minutes. Take a spatula and crumble the jackfruit until it looks like pulled pork. Add the BBQ sauce and heat for an additional 4 minutes. Remove from fire.
Place the flatbread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Top with cheese, tablespoon-sized drops of BBQ jackfruit, pineapple, onion and jalapeno. I usually top it off with a sprinkle of cheese.
Put in the oven and cook for 8 minutes. Then grill over high heat for an additional 3 minutes, watching carefully so as not to burn the crust.
Let cool. Slice and serve!
