Serves: 8
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon Chipotle pepper powder
- 1 teaspoon Cumin
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 3 slices Crispy and Crumbled Cooked Bacon
- ⅔ cups Grated parmesan
- ½ cups grated cheddar cheese
- 1 Sheet of frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1 beaten egg
Preparation
In a small bowl, combine chili powder, cumin, onion powder and garlic powder. Add the cooked bacon, parmesan and cheddar cheese to a bowl and toss to coat well.
Lightly flour the rolling area and roll out the puff pastry into a 12 x 16 inch rectangle. Brush the dough with beaten egg and sprinkle with 1/2 of the spice-bacon-cheese mixture. Fold in half, creating a 12 x 8 inch rectangle. Roll the square into a 12 x 16 inch rectangle. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle the rest of the spice-bacon-cheese mixture on top.
Cut the rectangle in half to create two 12 x 8 inch rectangles. Cut each rectangle into 3/4 inch strips lengthwise. After cutting the two rectangles, you will have 32 strips approximately 8 inches long.
Place the strips on baking sheets lined with parchment paper, a few inches apart. Twist the ends of the strips to create a spiral. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
Bake at 400ºF for 12 to 14 minutes or until crisp and golden. Let cool 5 minutes before removing from cookie sheets.
