Forget to lick the bowl, eat it! This gorgeous apple crumble in a baked apple is the perfect individual dessert. Warming and cozy, especially with a good dash of cinnamon and a nice sip of heavy cream on top.

Level: Easy
Serves: 1
Ingredients
- 1 whole Big hollow apple
- Fresh Cream, To Serve
- FOR FILLING:
- 100 grams Diced peeled apple
- ¼ teaspoons Cinnamon
- 10 grams Demerara sugar
- FOR THE CRUMBLE:
- 25 grams Plain flour
- 30 grams Demerara sugar
- 20 grams cold butter
Preparation
Combine filling ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat. Heat until sugar has melted and mixture is hot (not bubbling).
For the crumble, mix the flour and sugar in a bowl. Gradually take a spoonful of butter and rub between your fingers with the flour and sugar so that it looks like breadcrumbs. Continue until all the mixture is used up and you have a bowl of “breadcrumbs”.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (355°F).
Place the filling in the cavity of the apple, then cover with a generous amount of breadcrumbs. I like to pat it down a bit so it doesn’t fall off the top.
Place the apple on a baking sheet and heat in the center of the oven for 15 minutes. Remove and enjoy with a little drizzled fresh cream!
