This delicious American apple pie is ideal for cold fall and winter days. There’s nothing better than the smell of a freshly baked pie in the kitchen.

- FOR THE DOUGH:
- 450 grams All purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons coconut sugar
- ⅓ teaspoons salt
- 250 grams Butter, Cold
- 130 milliliters Cold water
- ⅔ Tablespoons Butter, to grease the pan
- FOR FILLING:
- 6 set medium apples
- 3 tablespoons Ground nuts
- 6 tablespoons coconut sugar
- 1 teaspoon Cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
Preparation
For the dough:
Mix four, sugar and salt together. Cut in butter. Slowly add water until you form a paste. Divide the dough: 2/3 for the bottom of the pie and 1/3 for the top. Leave to rest in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
For the filling:
Peel and core the apples and cut them into slices about 1/5 inch thick. Mix with all the dry ingredients.
Grease a pie pan with butter and add the bottom crust. Garnish the apple pie. Cut the top pie dough into strips and add them on top.
Preheat the oven to 450ºF degrees and bake for about 20 minutes. Reduce temperature to 375ºF and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes.
